Assam reported 15 more deaths due to Covid19 infection and a total of 986 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Confirming the news, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa sarma Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Saturday evening said the new cases tested positive for the virus out of 1,18,902 samples.
The Assam chief minister said the state’s overall positivity percentage stood at 0.83% on Saturday.
Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district reported 159.
In the last 24 hours, hundreds of other patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19, recovered from the deadly disease.
The state’s recovery rate stood at 97.04%, chief minister Sarma informed on Saturday.

On Saturday, India’s cumulative Covid19 vaccination coverage achieved a significant milestone of 50 crore, Union health ministry said in a bulletin.
Nearly 50 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours across the country.
The country’s recovery rate currently stands at 97.37%.
A total of 38,628 daily new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
India’s active caseload (4,12,153) presently constitutes 1.29% of the total cases, the ministry said.
The daily positivity rate (2.21%) is less than 3% for the last 12 days, it said.
