Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday ceremonially released the new Land Policy 2019

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday ceremonially released the new Land Policy 2019 prepared by Revenue and Disaster Management department at Dispur here.

The Land Policy was approved by Cabinet on October 21 and it has been prepared by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department after 30 years.

It was last prepared in 1989.

On the other hand, the chief minister also released the Hand Book of Circulars, Volume-V containing the government circulars, office memorandum issued by the revenue and disaster management department from May 1, 2007 to August 30, 2019.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the state government has been putting a lot of emphasis in preparing the Land Policy to safeguard the interest of the indigenous people and the Policy would remove complications regarding land allotments and settlements.

He also directed the Revenue and Disaster Management department to make the Hand Book available to all levels of officials of the department.

Minister of State of Revenue and Disaster Management Bhabesh Kalita, Legal Adviser to the Chief Minister Shantanu Bharali, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department Kumar Sanjay Krishna were also present in the meeting.
