Assam has reported 61 more COVID19 deaths and 4,178 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

The news has been confirmed by Assam health minister Keshab Mahanata.

In a tweet on Wednesday evening regarding Assam’s COVID19 situation, health minister Mahanta said the new cases were confirmed out of 1,02,922 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

The overall positivity percentage of Assam stands at 4.06%.

Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro district alone has reported 383 cases.

Hundreds of people were discharged after their recovery from the disease.

Assam’s Covid19 recovery rate on Wednesday stood at 86.70%, according to the data shared by the health minister.

“Summary of 02/6/2021 – Today’s Total 4178; Overall Positivity Percentage (4178 cases out of 1,02,922 test done = 4.06%); Kamrup(M) 383; Death 61; Recovery Rate 86.70%,” health minister Mahanta tweeted.

In the last 24 hours, India’s active caseload declined below 20 lakhs and is presently stands at 17,93,645

The recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 20th consecutive day, the Union health ministry stated.

Recovery rate increases to 92.48%, it said.

While the weekly positivity rate currently stands at 8.21%, the daily positivity rate stands at 6.57%, which is less than 10% for 9 consecutive days, the ministry said.
