Assam reported 23 more Covid19 deaths and 1,595 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Confirming the news, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Saturday evening said the new cases were confirmed out of 1,18,889 tests.
The chief minister informed that the state’s overall positivity percentage on Saturday stood at 1.34%.
Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro reported 179.
On Saturday, hundreds of people, who were earlier infected by Covid19, recovered from the deadly disease.
The state’s recovery rate on the day was 96.26%, chief minister Sarma informed.

On Friday, Assam reported 15 Covid19 deaths and a total of 1,621 positive cases.
The overall positivity percentage was 1.10% as the new cases were confirmed out of 1,47,175 tests on Friday.
The Kamrup Metro district reported 188 cases on Friday.
Till Saturday, 42.78 crore vaccine doses were administered under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive across the country.
A total of 3,05,03,166 recoveries were recorded in the country so far and the recovery rate currently stands at 97.35%.
India reported 39,097 new cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Union health ministry data.
