The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to add an additional AC three-tier compartment in the Rajya Rani Express from December 8, 2019.

The Rajya Rani Express (15417/15418), which runs (Tri-Weekly) in the Alipurduar Junction-Dhubri-Silghat Town route has recently been upgraded under “Project Utkrisht” and has emerged as the first Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) train.

The passengers, however, are demanding since long to extend its service strength on a daily basis instead of present tri-weekly which is yet to be fulfilled.

“This is the lone express train since 2012 which links Dhubri with Guwahati and other parts of the Assam as well as to the West Bengal’s Coochbehar and new Alipurdwar town,” said B Bajaj, member, Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee, NFR (Alipurdwar Junction).

“After augment of this additional compartment, the passengers will be much more benefited,” Bajaj added.

“Initially it will be on trial run for three months but depending upon the utilization the service will be extended for a further period,” Bajaj said.
