With the objectives to raise awareness regarding the importance of health and nutritional diet amongst the people, the ‘Poshan Rath’ was flagged off in Assam’s Kokrajhar on Thursday.

It is organized by District Social Welfare Department.

Joint director Social Welfare Department, BTC, cum CHD Kuldeep Basumatary, and chairperson of Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kokrajhar Malati Rani Narzary flagged off the rally.

The Poshan Rath will be undertaken in Kokrajhar district comprising five blocks (Kokrajhar, Dotoma, Kachugaon, Gossaigaon and Hatidhura.

It is aimed to raise awareness regarding the importance of health and nutritional diet, especially on the five themes – 1000 days of a child, Anemia, Diarrhea, Hygiene & Sanitation and Poshtik Aahar among the people.

District social welfare officer Shyameswar Mushahary, district coordinator Pohan Abhiyan, Nisha Narzary, ICDS supervisors, anganwadi workers and helpers were among those present on the occasion.
