The Assam Police has served a notice to sitting Rajya Sabha MP from Mizoram – K Vanlalvena.
The Mizoram MP has been summoned by the Assam Police to record statement at the Dholai Police Station on August 1.
An Assam police team, which is in Delhi, on Friday, pasted the summon notice at the walls of his official residence also the Mizoram Bhawan in the National Capital.
The notice had to be pasted on the walls after the Mizoram Rajya Sabha MP went ‘underground’ after making a statement on Tuesday, for which the Assam Police is now investigating his alleged role in Monday’s clash at the inter-state border.
The Mizoram MP has been summoned for questioning at the Dholai Police Station in regards to a statement he made saying that “if Assam police officers enter our territory again, they will be killed”.
The Mizoram MP made this statement on Tuesday, just a day after six Assam Police personnel and a civilian lost their lives after Mizoram Police opened fire during a clash.
“They are lucky we didn’t kill all. If they come again, we will kill them all,” Mizoram Rajya Sabha MP K Vanlalvena had said.
The 4-member Assam Police’s CID team which is in New Delhi has also sought assistance from the Delhi Police to locate the ‘missing’ Rajya Sabha MP.

A case was registered on Tuesday at Dholai PS (Case No 236/21) under sections 120(B),447,336,379,333,307,302 IPC read with Section 25 (1-A) of Arms Act and Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public property Act 1984 against the killing of Assam Police personnel on July 26.
The Assam Police has alleged that Rajya Sabha MP from Mizoram, K Vanlalvena’s media interview is “indicative of his active role in the conspiracy”.
“It has come to light that you have given a threatening statement in media targetting civil and police officials in connection with the incident which is a subject matter of investigation. Therefore, there are reasonable grounds to question you to ascertain facts and circumstances from you,” the Assam Police notice read.
