The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam police on Saturday arrested two persons from Dibrugarh district in connection with the Assam police sub-inspector (SI) recruitment scam.
They were identified as Priyonath Gogoi alias Jintu Gogoi of Jibon Phukan Nagar and Dilip Gogoi alias Bhai of Borpathar area in Dibrugarh.
According to sources, both are close associate of former DIG PK Dutta.
Both of them were taken to Guwahati by the CID team of for interrogation.
“We are looking into every aspect of the case and nobody will be spared. We have formed a team and search operation is on to nab former DIG PK Dutta,” said a senior police official.
On September, 20, examination to recruit unarmed sub-inspector was cancelled minutes after it began, as the question paper was found to have leaked on social media.
BJP leader and one of the prime accused of the case, Diban Deka was arrested on Wednesday. He is currently in five-day police custody.
Deka along with former DIG PK Dutta, had been absconding since the scam came to light.
