One person was killed on the spot while another sustained serious injuries in a road accident at Assam’s Bokakhat on Tuesday.
The accident took place at Rajabari along National Highway 37.
Both of them were in a scooty.
The rider died on the spot, while the one at pillion was grievously injured.
The injured was rushed to Bokakhat hospital and after giving the preliminary treatment, the person was sent to Jorhat Medical College Hospital.
The scooty collided head-on with a truck bearing registration number AS-17-B-9816 which was on its way towards Jorhat.
The deceased has been identified as Rumankar Das, while the injured person has been identified as Sadhan Das.
According to information, both of them hailed from Jonaki Nagar of Borchapori in Bokakhat sub-division.
