The Summer Session of Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) was held on Wednesday in its Assembly House at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar and ended with one day business.
During the session, Tridip Daimary, Speaker, BTCLA announced the report of the Business Advisory Committee under rule 230 and the names of the members of the Panel of Chairman under Rule 9(1) of the council legislative assembly.
BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, who is in-charge of the Personnel department informed that presently eighth officers deputed to BTC Secretariat by the Assam government and 16 retired persons on contractual basis were being engaged as per the government rules.
He was replying to a question raised by Jyatirindra Brahma, MCLA from opposition bench on the engagement of officers and staff on attachment or on deputation basis and the number of retired persons being engaged in the BTC Secretariat.
Land Revenue Executive Member Alindra Moshahary replied ‘yes’ and said that Touzi Bahira revenue was not levied or collected from the Touzi Bahira land occupiers by the department because of the general khas, MNP and allotted status as per available documents.
He was responding to MCLA Nirmal Kr Brahma’s question on why the BTC Revenue department has not yet been levied the Touzi Bahira (TB) revenue from such land occupiers.
BTC chief, Hagrama Mohilary assured the house that the BTC will take up necessary steps to resettle the people who lost everything in the last flood based on the flood- damaged report of the Deputy Commissioners who conducted survey in their respective areas.
He was responding to another query by Rwngwra Narzary, MCLA, the opposition leader about the intention of the the BTC Government on resettlement process of the badly flood-hit people, besides highlighting some major projects being prepared by them as per instructions the central government including sports complexes at district head quarters, film studio at Kokrajhar, helipad at Kokrajhar and Udalguri, major roads and bridges etc.
During the session, the House witnessed answering five questions put by the members of the opposition bench.
It also witnessed a flood-damaged report submitted by the members of all party delegation team of BTC led by Speaker Tridip Daimary and observance of one minute silence in the memory of departed souls of the nation’s leaders.
