Office of the deputy commissioner (DC) of Kamrup-Metro will be shifted to Rupnagar in Guwahati.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Wednesday, inspected the site, where the new office of Kamrup-Metro deputy commission will come up.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said: “The new Kamrup-Metro DC office will be a five-storeyed building. Construction work will get over in three years.”

“Altogether ten new DC offices will be constructed across the state in the next three years,” the Assam chief minister added.

Sarma, however, said that total cost for construction of the new Kamrup-Metro DC office is yet to be estimated.

Moreover, office of the Guwahati police commissioner will also be shifted to Rupnagar.

The current Kamrup-Metro DC office at Kachari will be demolished and a beautification project will be initiated at the site.
