Constant checkings and initiatives are being taken by the government to ensure that no accidents take place during New Year.

Regarding Omicron, Mahanta said that Assam has not reported any cases yet but some international travelers have been found to be positive.

He added that the health department is monitoring those persons just to make sure that the Omicron does not come into Assam.
