The deputy commissioner of Assam’s Hojai, Dr Sadnek Singh through an order, has upgraded Nilbagan Model Hospital to COVID-19 Hospital.
Thia was informed through a press communique by district administration on Friday evening.
As per the communique, keeping in view the rapid increase in COVID-19 positive cases in the district the administration has begun the large scale swab testing implementing trace, test and treatment technique, to control the increasing COVID-19 cases.
According to the communique, till Wednesday the swab samples of total 19,617 persons were collected and tested, out of which 545 persons in the district and 239 persons in Guwahati were found to be infected with COVID-19.
So, the total figure of the person’s infected with COVID-19 in the district is 824.
Out of these, 679 persons were released after recovery and at present there are 144 active cases in the district.
According to the release, in the district there is the facility of 118 isolation beds.
At Jugijaan COVID-19 hospital there are 47 active cases and at Udali COVID-19 hospital there are 41 active cases.
On the other hand, 5,419 persons in the district are in home isolation.
