Musician and rapper Rahul Rajkhowa along with his friend Himangshu Arya conducted flood relief camps in two places of Lakhimpur district of Assam on Thursday.
Under the initiative of Rajkhowa & Arya Aid, an online fundraising campaign for the flood victims of Assam, relief materials were distributed in Lakhimpur’s worst affected Aamtola and Silikhaguri at Azad near North Lakhimpur town.
The relief materials containing foodgrains, milk, edible oil, mosquito repellent, sanitary pads and bottles of drinking water were distributed among the flood victims of seven affected villages of Aamtola.

A local youth group, Bipodor Bandhu assisted the Rajkhowa & Arya Aid team in the camp which was led by Rahul Rajkhowa, Himangshu Arya and Sahir Raunaque Hussain.
Later a similar flood relief distribution camp was conducted at Silikhagurighat in Azad.
Earlier on Sunday, Ashroy Mahila Samaj, an NGO of women from North Lakhimpur distributed relief materials among flood victims at Aamtola.
The relief distribution camp was led by the president of the NGO, Asfiya Hussain.
Clothes and garments were also distributed among the flood affected people on that occasion by the women NGO.
An animal health camp was conducted by Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVSc), Johing in North Lakhimpur at Morolia village of Luhit Khabolu Gram Panchayat under Telahi Development Block in Lakhimpur to treat cattle affected by the flood.
Assisted by Indo Global Social Services Society (IGSSS)’s North Lakhimpur unit, the LCVSc team vaccinated 847 livestock and animals including cattle, pigs and goat and provided free medicines and vitamins.
The LCVSc team was led by assistant professors Dr S. Khargharia, Dr Biju Borah, Dr Mridu Pavan Baishya, Dr Karuna Saikia, and Dr Aditya Baruah. Dipiti Padun, President of Luhit Khabolu Gaon Panchayat supported the team in that animal health camp.
It may be mentioned that animal and livestock of this riverine area of Lakhimur district have been severely affected due to shortage of fodder and foot and mouth diseases.
