Tripura Assam Manipur: Smuggling ring busted, drugs worth Rs 9.59 crore seized

Guwahati: A man was arrested in Kokrajhar, Assam on Sunday after he allegedly murdered his father over a dispute related to “drug money”.

According to reports, the incident took place in the Jamunatari village, Gosaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar, Assam.

The accused was identified as Darvesh Ali.

He allegedly killed his 55-year-old father after being refused money to purchase drugs.

He attacked his father with a sharp weapon at around 2 pm when his request for the money was denied.

Locals claimed Ali was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the attack.

The police have arrested him in connection with the murder and are investigating the possible involvement of two other individuals.
