The Jorhat district administration has announced that the total lockdown in force in Jorhat Municipal Board (JMB) and in 11 suburban areas since 7 pm on July 9 will be lifted with restrictions from 7 am on July 23.

An order, issued on Monday by the Jorhat district magistrate, who is also the chairman of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), said several restrictions will be imposed from July 23 and remain in force till August 7.

The order said the lockdown on Saturday and Sunday for JMB and the suburban areas will continue as per earlier order in this regard.

As per the restrictions imposed during the period from July 23, all shops and businesses establishments including wholesellers for essential and non-essential items will be allowed to open on one side of any given street and on the opposite side on alternate days between Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

The datewise schedule for opening the shops has been fixed by the administration.

The order stated the shop-keepers will have to operate with 50 per cent of the total employees.

Pharmacies, medicines including veterinary, and animal food wholesalers and other livestock related activities are allowed to operate on both sides of the streets from Monday to Friday, the order mentioned.

The order stated that no private vehicles, both four-wheelers and two-wheelers, have been barred from coming on to street except for medical emergency and official duty. However, the official concerned must carry roster duty ordered by the head of the office along with official/departmental identity card, the order mentioned.

Cab aggregators, auto rickshaws and manual rickshaws will be allowed to operate only with two passengers, the order said.

Malls, cinema halls, yoga centres and all places of public restaurants shall remain closed and movement of individuals between 7 pm to 7 am and also on Saturdays and Sundays has been prohibited from opening.

All Central and state government offices including banks, insurance companies, NBFCs, private offices will have to operate with 30 percent of total workforce. The said offices will be allowed to operate without streetside restrictions, the order said.

The offices of deputy commissioner, revenue circle officers, treasury establishments, police establishments and other emergency services will be allowed to operate with requisite workforce by observing all Covid19 guidelines, the order stated.

Home delivery of vegetables, fruits meat, and fish and also courier, e-commerce activities too will be permitted to operate from Monday to Friday between 9 am to 5 pm, the order said.
