A full-grown leopard was caged at Dikom tea estate in Assam’s Dibrugarh district on Wednesday.
The forest department placed the cage to trap the big cat in the tea estate.
“The tea garden management and the workers complained to us about the venturing of the leopard in the Dikom tea estate for the last several days,” said an official of the forest department.
“We placed a cage in the tea estate and on Wednesday morning, the animal was trapped in the cage,” said an official of the forest department.

Recently, many leopards were caged in Dibrugarh and later the animals were released into the forest.
After the leopard was trapped inside the cage, the people around the tea garden went to see the leopard.
“In the recent past, many leopards were caged in the Dikom tea estate successfully,” said a tea garden worker.
“We spotted the leopard in the tea garden. The workers were afraid of plucking tea leaves due to the presence of the leopard in the garden area,” the tea garden worker added.
The tea garden workers have heaved a sigh of relief after the leopard was caged.
