Forest department officials on Friday morning recovered the carcass of a six-month-old leopard at Maligaon area in Guwahati.
Local residents informed the forest department after they spotted the carcass at Madhabdev Nagar in Maligaon.
A team of forest department and police officials recovered the carcass and sent it for post-mortem examination.
“There are injury marks on the carcass. It seems the leopard was either killed by another animal or it died after falling from the hill,” a forest department official said.
