The 10-day workshop on Kamrupia Dhulia concluded successfully in Assam’s Nalbari.

The workshop was organised by the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata under the Union Ministry of Culture.

The 10-day workshop from September 25-October 4, 2021 on Kamrupia Dhulia was organised in collaboration with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Assam.

Conducted by Chhaya-The Shadow, Nalbari, the workshop concluded at 4 pm at Hari Mandir in Nalbari.

The closing ceremony was inaugurated by Abha Moni Saikia, publication officer, Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Assam by lighting the lamp ceremony in presence of secretary, president & executive committee members of Chhaya-The Shadow Group.

A traditional dance drama on Kamrupia Dhulia, titled ‘Vaishnavir Song’ written by Late Mohan Chandra Bhaoriya, a Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee, was staged on the occasion.

The dance drama, directed by workshop expert Lohit Ch Patowari, was performed by 21 participants.

“Before the presentation of the traditional play, the participants also performed ‘Kusthi’, a traditional gymnastic form,” said Naba Kumara Bharali, media coordinator in a statement.

On behalf of the Director of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Assam & EZCC Kolkata, publication officer Abha Moni Saikia distributed the certificates among the participants.

“There were more than 200 people present at the event. The event was coordinated by Goutam Kr. Das and hosted by Naba Kumar Bharali,” the statement added.
