Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), a State University of Government of Assam has conferred its Life Time Achievement Award to Dr Sarbeswar Saharia.
Saharia, a Padmashri recipient renowned surgeon from Mangaldai was conferred the award in recognition of his outstanding academic contribution and service in the field of medical science and medical education.
This has been informed in a letter issued by the registrar of the University on Wednesday while inviting Dr Saharia to receive the award.

The award will be presented in the annual celebration of the University scheduled on February 17 next, the letter further stated.
The news has made the friends, relatives and close circles of Dr Saharia at his native town jubilant.
Dr Saharia who settled in Hyderabad has more than 3500 successful kidney transplantation under his belt.
