A day after the Assam government announced relaxations in COVID19-induced lockdown in Kamrup Metro district, the directorate of horticulture & food processing has issued a price list of vegetables.

In an order issued on Saturday, the state government allowed the house-to-house sale of fruits and vegetables between 8 AM and 2 PM on Monday and Wednesday (July 6 & 8).

However, the government has not allowed roadside vending of any fruit, vegetable, and fish.

The consumer prices of vegetables were fixed on Sunday in a meeting held at Assam State Agriculture Marketing Board in presence of officials from Kamrup district administration, Assam State Agricultural Marketing Board, and the directorate of Horticulture & food processing.

With effect from July 6, the traders will be able to sell vegetables at the following prices in the Guwahati Metro area.

Ridge Gourd can be sold at 35 per kg, Tender Ash Gourd at Rs. 30 per piece, Pointed Guard at

Rs. 30 per Kg, Long Bean – Rs. 40 per Kg; Bitter Guard – Rs. 40 per Kg, Pumpkin – Rs 20 per kg and Ladies finger can be sold at 30 per kg.

The price of Cabbage has been fixed at Rs 30 per kg, Chilli per kg at Rs 60, Carrot per kg – Rs 90;  French Beans per kg – Rs. 90, Sponge Gourd per kg – Rs 30, Cucumber per kg – Rs 30, Bottle Gourd per piece – Rs 35, Peas per kg Rs 85 and Assam Lemon’s price has been fixed at Rs 3 per piece.

The traders will have to sell Brinjal per kg at Rs 40, Spine Gourd per kg at Rs. 46, Coriander leaves per Muthi at Rs 5, Capsicum per kg at Rs 80, Knolkhol at Rs. 40 per Kg, Potato (New) per kg at Rs 30 and Tomato per Kg at Rs 50.

The price of Colocasia has been fixed at Rs 40 per kg, Snake Gourd at Rs 30 per kg,

Squash at Rs 50 per kg, Radish at Rs 35 per kg, and the price of Kunduli has been fixed at Rs. 32 per kg.

“However, the monitoring committee is authorized to monitor the consumer price on the basis of any situation arises,” the director of horticulture and & food processing stated.

Keeping in view of the surge in COVID19 positive cases in Guwahati, the Assam government in an order announced complete lockdown in Kamrup Metro district for two weeks from June 29-July 12.

However, on Saturday, the state government in an order announced relaxations in several activities.
