In this hour of crises a good Samaritan of eastern Assam’s Jorhat has come forward to give rations free of cost to 25 marginalized families who have lost their means of livelihood following the country’s lockdown.
Raju Goyal, proprietor of Anamika Motors said he was planning to provide food that is seven kg rice, five kg flour, one kg dal, one litre oil and three kg potatoes to 25 families of daily wage workers.
Making an appeal for others to join hands to feed the needy, he said the declaration of unprecedented 21 days nation-wide lockdown to curb the dreaded coronavirus was most likely going to paralyze the economy.
“The government too has limited resources, hence it is the duty of every citizen to help the needy with display of love for all. The success of this lockdown is possible only if the needy who will face the pains in this period most are given full support, ” he said.
Goyal said he would arrange to deliver the same to their houses.
“Please message the names and addresses of any such family to 9435050941. The distribution will be done on first come first served basis,” he said.
“I also request other friends of mine that, if they so wish they may also extend similar help, ” Goyal further said adding he would help them with logistics.
