The district administration of Assam’s Dhubri on Tuesday has declared Gauripur Community Health Centre as a new containment zone after three medical staff tested positive for coronavirus.

This action has been taken after one GNM, one sweeper including a driver of an ambulance of the said health centre found COVID-19 positive on Tuesday night.

The alarming fact is that all detected positive patients have no travel history, sources in health officials said.

Meanwhile, the Health department has started to collect the swab samples of all staff and doctors of the hospital while the entry and exit of the hospital premises will be restricted for the next seven days.

The Dhubri District has detected 21 new COVID-19 positive patients on Tuesday taking the total tally to 663 in the district.

However, 506 positive patients who were detected with COVID-19 have so far been recovered and discharged from different hospitals across the State.

The Dhubri district as of now has a total of 157 active cases of COVID-19 patients.
