With the flood situation in Assam deteriorating further, as many as 153 forest camps in Kaziranga National Park (KNP) are now reeling under water.
There are a total of 223 forest camps in the Kaziranga National Park.
Moreover, according to reports, one forest camp in the KNP has been vacated due to rising water level.
However, no loss of human or animal lives have been reported from the Kaziranga National Park thus far.

Meanwhile, with the flood situation in the KNP deteriorating at a rapid pace, the Assam government have issued advisories for movement of heavy vehicles along the stretch of NH-37 that traverses through the animal corridors in Kaziranga.

The authorities of the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) in Assam have also started issuing time cards to vehicles to regulate traffic in animal corridors along the National Highway 37 in Kaziranga.
“Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve has started issuing time cards to regulate traffic in animal corridors,” the KNP authorities said.
On the other hand, the flood situation in Assam turned critical with two persons dead and more than 3.63 lakh people in 21 districts being affected.
According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), one person each died in Barpeta and Morigaon districts on Monday. They drowned after being washed away.

Lakhimpur in Assam is the worst affected district, accounting for 1,30,001 out of a total of 3,63,135 people temporary displaced.
The data showed 1,24,776 of the affected people were females and 70,544 children.
Crop on 30,333.36 hectares land and 2,56,144 domesticated animals have also been affected, ASDMA said.
