The Old Boys’ Association Sainik School Goalpara (OBASSG) in association with the cadets, staff and authority of Sainik School Goalpara distributed relief materials among flood-hit families in Goalpara district.
They distributed the relief materials on Tuesday at four relief camps in Dolgoma area of Goalpara district.
“Altogether 300 families living in four relief camps in Dolgoma Girls’ High School, Dolgoma H.S. School, Dolgoma L.P. School and Dolgoma M.E. School were provided packets of relief materials,” informed Abhigyan Prasad, general secretary of OBASSG.
The relief materials contained rice, dal, sugar, salt, potato, soyabean, buiscuits, chira, water bottles and used clothes, informed Prasad.

The camp was inaugurated by Lt. Col. Vishal Sharma, officiating principal and Lt. Col. Anil Jasrotia, vice principal of Sainik School Goalpara.
Despite flood water starts receding in many parts of Assam, 198 villages still continue to be affected by flood in Goalpara district.
As per the flood report released by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Tuesday, 198 villages under four revenue circles in Goalpara district still continue to be affected by flood waters.
The affected revenue circles in the district are Balijana, Matia, Rongjuli and Lakhipur.
The numbers of villages affected in different revenue circles are – 77 in Balijana, 91 in Lakhipur, 28 in Matia and 2 villages in Rongjuli revenue circles.
The total number of relief camps set up in the district is 45 where 14,944 inmates are taking shelter.
While 9257 inmates are taking shelter in relief camps at Balijana circle, 5473 are taking shelter at Matia circle and 214 are in relief camps under Rongjuli revenue circle.
