Five people have gone missing after a mechanised country boat capsized in the Beki river in Lower Assam’s Barpeta district.
The boat carrying 11 persons capsized in the river at Kalampur near Kalgachia in Barpeta district, police said.
While six persons onboard the boat managed to swim ashore, five persons were still missing since the incident on Monday.
The search was on for the missing five.
The missing boat passengers have been identified as Saniyara Khatun, Nargis Sultana, Iqramul Hussain, Samad Ali and Sayed Ali.
