Amid surge in Covid-19 cases, an engineer in South Assam’s Silchar has developed a sensor-based touch free handwash dispenser, which not only reduces transmission through manual operation of soap dispenser but also limits wastage of water.
Engineer Nirupam Choudhury has developed the portable touch-free 1,800 ml sanitizer dispenser machine, which is based on infrared motion dispenser.
“The circuit uses 5v power supply under 1A which can be delivered by a mobile phone charging adapter. Anyone keeping his palm under the dispensing machine the onboard sensors will immediately sense the obstruction and start spraying certain amount of sanitizer liquid in the palm for a pre-set time,” Choudhury said.
He said a window on the back side of the unit shows the level of sanitizer left in dispenser.
The refilling can be done using any water based alcohol sanitizer in the tank, Choudhury added.
Choudhury, who has made at least 25 such sanitizer dispensers so far, said that the portable sanitizer dispenser can be used at indoor locations in hospitals, hotels and restaurants, offices and educational institutions.
