Top Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has sharpened her attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during her tour of Assam ahead of the Assembly elections in the State.

Slamming the BJP for “not fulfilling” its promises made during the last Assembly elections in Assam, Priyanka Gandhi said that Assam do not need a double-engine government with two chief ministers at the realm.

Assam is in no need for a double-engine government with double chief ministers,” said Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

Criticising the BJP Government in Assam, Priyanka Gandhi said that the people of the State were humiliated by the saffron brigade in the last 5 years.

“What have they done in the last five years? The Assamese people didn’t want the CAA, but the BJP brought it anyhow ignoring the sentiments of the people,” Priyanka Gandhi said.

“Did the PM visit Assam when floods were wreaking havoc and spoke to those affected? Did the PM visit Assam when innocent people lost their lives during CAA protests? No,” added Priyanka Gandhi.
