Senior doctor of GNRC hospitals in Guwahati Dr Navanil Baruah has denied allegations of him trying to save Rajkanya Baruah by providing her ‘fake’ medical report and admitting her to the ICU of the hospital.
In fact, Dr Navanil Baruah claimed that he didn’t even know Rajkanya. Dr Baruah said that he was not trying to save Rajkanya.
“I didn’t even know her (Rajkanya Baruah). I was not trying to save her,” Dr Navanil Baruah while replying to queries of reporters outside Dispur Police Station.
Dr Navanil Baruah was summoned at the Dispur Police Station in the Rajkanya drunk and hit case for allegedly providing ‘fake’ medical report.

On Thursday, Rajkanya Baruah was denied bail by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Guwahati and was sent to one-day police custody.
On October 1 night, former Miss India finalist Rajkanya Baruah had hit 8 PWD workers with her vehicle at Rukmini Gaon area in Guwahati.
One pedestrian was also seriously injured in the accident and lost both his legs.
She was arrested by Dispur Police but she got bail within a day due to which the Assam Police was strongly criticized on social media.

After being criticised Assam Police put two police officers, sub-inspector Sahir Ali and woman sub-inspector Abharani Gogoi, on close reserve for helping Rajkanya Baruah get bail even after she caused a major road accident violating traffic rules.
The Assam chief minister has directed to conduct an inquiry against the two police officers.
Later, Rajkanya Baruah did not appear before the Assam police on Tuesday.
Rajkanya’s mother has sought two weeks’ time to appear before the police citing her health condition.

She was re-arrested after a six-member team of doctors from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) did not find any serious illness for which Baruah had to be admitted to a Semi-ICU of GNRC.
Dr Navanil Baruah was the in-charge of Rajkanya Baruah’s treatment.
