Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday inaugurated newly installed High Mast LED Lights in Dibrugarh.

The Dibrugarh Municipality Board has installed 30 LED High Mast Lights under a scheme of the Urban Development department for which the government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 1.5 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the Assam government after coming to power earmarked an amount of Rs 200 crore for the beautification of 6 big towns including Dibrugarh in its first budget.

Accordingly, steps were taken to develop civic amenities in Dibrugarh town so that this historic place could be developed as a smart town with advanced civic amenities.

He further said that around 500 street solar lights would be installed in Dibrugarh soon.

Urging the people to join their hands in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the Union Food Processing Ministry under the leadership of Union Minister of State Rameswar Teli continued relentless efforts for boosting the food processing sector in Assam.

He informed that the ministry is working to set up 13 thousand food processing industries in the state.
