There is no doubt that the mobile phone is a very useful and important tool of today’s world and becomes a major part of our day-to-day life.

But have you ever thought about the adverse effects of mobile phones on our teenagers and young people?

If no, then please come and visit to the puja mandap of No 3 Baluchar Durga Puja Committee of Dhubri town in Lower Assam.

The puja pandal has a number of messages written on the top starting from its entrance gate to the entire premises in a bid to create awareness on harmful effects of mobile phone.

Apart from that, the committee has also displayed complete lists of negative effects caused to a student with excessive use of mobile phones likes lack of concentration, stress, lack of vision, addiction, rising cases of accidents, cyber bullying and use of different social medias through the use of flex printing technology on a numbers of big size cut-outs.

Ashish Ghosh, a member of the committee said, “Mobile phone eases the communication with friends, relatives and other people at one hand while on the other hand it is also impacting very badly on youths and our society simultaneously.”

Janardan Paul, local decorator cum creator of this unique theme said, “Every technology that provides such benefits comes with a consequent price.”

The impact of mobile phones particularly on youth and teenagers is very astronomical and accordingly it requires a lot of attention, said Janardan Paul.

Joydev Paul, president of the No 3 Baluchar Durga Puja Committee said that the committee has trying to give a strong messages meant to spread awareness among the masses about the adverse effect of mobile phone use.

Meanwhile, the 12-foot tall idol of Durga with Rajasthani costumes will also be the attraction for viewers and devotees.

Last year, this puja committee had installed a Durga idol having 1000 hands.
