With 38 new COVID-19 patients in Assam’s Dhubri District in last 24 hours, the total number of such cases has crossed the 500 mark and is at 512 inside the district.
Out of 18 COVID-19 positive cases detected on Monday, three are from CRPF, two from BSF and one from healthcare service while 12 are civilians.
However, according to the data revealed by the district Health services till filling of this report, a total of 434 persons have so far been recovered from the disease and have already been released and most of them are home quarantined, leaving only 77 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.

Moreover, another 19 persons from the district have also been found with the virus outside the district at various places of the country.
Meanwhile, in order to curb the pandemic, the Health department has taken up a coronavirus Rapid Antigen Test.
The joint director of Health Services, Dhubri, Dr Syed Imdadullah said, “Today, we have started doing these antigen tests at PB College institutional quarantine centre.”
A total of 160 persons belonging to central para-military force have been quarantined at the aforsaid centre and of them 29 jawans have so far been found infected with COVID-19.”
Commenting on the sudden rise in such cases in the district, the joint director said most of the cases of the district are asymptomatic and there has been no record of community spread of the pandemic in the district, as of yet.
“We have conducted various tests, but thankfully there is no trace of community spread as of yet and all the cases are limited to migrants or their direct contacts”, said Syed Imdadullah.
Till Moday, the District Health Services along with the district administration has collected 40,017 samples in Dhubri district for COVID-19 tests, out of which 38,399 samples have been found negative and 1,019 reports are awaited.
