Biren Ch Deuri, Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) posted in District Transport Department, Udalguri with additional charge in Darrang has been arrested on charges of attacking one his fellow colleague on Wednesday.
According to the FIR lodged by one Dipak Patowary, an Enforcement Inspector in Darrang Transport Office, the accused MVI Deuri on Wednesday during office hours, following an altercation over a trivial matter attacked him with a sharp object causing him serious injury.
On the basis of the FIR a case (No 924 /19) u/s 353 /326 IPC has already been registered in Mangaldai Police Station.
On the other hand another case (No 926 /19) u/s 294 (A) /353 /427 /307 IPC has reportedly been registered in the same police station following a counter complaint lodged against enforcement inspector Patowary by MVI Deuri.
Meanwhile, both the accused have been released on medical ground as stated by inspector Niranjan Baruah, officer in charge of Mangaldai Sadar Police Station.
