Assam has registered 84 new Covid19 positive cases, taking the overall tally to 4,861 on Thursday.

On the same day, 194 Covid19 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across Assam.

Currently, Assam has 2,001 active Covid19 cases.

Confirming the news on new positive cases, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on his Twitter handle on Thursday said 25 positive cases have been reported from Misamari Military Camp and 16 cases have been reported from Kamrup(M) district.

Hailakandi has reported 14  Covid19 positive cases, Karimganj has reported 13 cases, Tezpur has reported 8 cases, Nagaon has reported 5 cases, Lakhimpur has reported 2  positive cases and 1 positive case has been detected in Golaghat district.

“Alert ~ 84 #COVID19+ cases. 25 Misamari Military Camp, 16 Kamrup(M), 14 Hailakandi, 13 Karimganj, 8 Tezpur, 5 Nagaon, 2 Lakhimpur, 1 Golaghat,” health minister Sarma said in his tweet.

After 39 minutes, health minister Sarma in another tweet informed about the discharge of 194 patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19.

Sarma said the patients were discharged from various civil, district, and model hospitals in Assam after they tested negative.

“Discharge Alert~ Glad to share that 194 patients have been discharged today from various civil, district & model hospitals in Assam, after being tested negative,” Sarma said in his latest tweet on Assam’s Covid19 status.

With the newly-discharged cases, the number of total discharged Covid19 cases in Assam has risen to 2,848.

“Total Discharged Patients – 2848. Active Patients – 2001,” health minister Sarma said.
