At a time when Covid19 cases are rising in Assam, a woman fled from a government hospital in Lakhimpur district after she tested positive for Covid19.

The incident took place at Narayanpur in Assam’s Lakhimpur district on Tuesday.

According to a media report, the woman, who is a resident of Ruptoli in Narayanpur, fled after she tested positive at Dholpur hospital.

However, the Dholpur police were later able to detain the Covid19 positive woman.

Meanwhile, the Covid19 tally in Narayanpur increased to 47 on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, 3 persons tested positive for Covid19 at Narayapur.

The positive patients are from Narayanpur town, Bordeori Gaon and Ruptoli.

Till Monday, Narayanpur’s Covid19 tally stood at 44.

On Monday, Assam reported 15 new Covid19 deaths.

The Covid19 deaths were reported from 5 districts in Assam on Monday.

With this, Assam’s Covid19 death toll increased to 1,215.

On Monday, Assam recorded 3,137 new Covid19 positive cases out of which 1,153 were detected from in Kamrup Metro district.

With the detection of these 3,137 new Covid19 cases in Assam, the state’s active cases tally crossed the 17,000-mark.

On Monday, the number of Assam’s active Covid19 cases stood at 17,764.
