COVID19 positive

The number of Covid19 positive cases registered in Lower Assam’s Dhubri district touched the 340-mark on Monday.

Apart from the 340 persons, 10 other persons, who are residents of Dhubri district, have tested positive for Covid19 in other parts of the state and country.

While three persons have tested positive in Delhi, two have tested positive in Guwahati and 7 others have tested positive in Kokrajhar district.

The Dhubri district nodal health officer for Covid19, Dr. Joydeep Bhatacharjee said, “A total of 106 patients have so far recovered from the disease. They have been discharged from different hospitals and are staying at their respective residences.”

Most of the positive cases detected in the district are returnees, who have come back from outside the state and are staying in different mass institutional quarantine centres, the health official added.

Of the total active cases, 37 are in Dhubri Civil Hospital, 78 are in Bilasipara  Sub-divisional Civil Hospital, 85 are Moterjhar Model Hospital and 38 others are in Bagribari Model Hospital.

Six positive patients were referred to Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) in Barpeta for treatment.

The Dhubri joint director of health services, Dr. Syed Imdadullah, said, “A total of 1,305 persons have been kept in institutional quarantine centres across the district.”

“A total of 531 persons were quarantined today (Monday) while a total of 25,299 persons have so far been released from various quarantine centres set up in the district,” Dr Imdadullah said.

Besides, a total of 9,260 persons have been directed to remain under home quarantine in the district, said Dr Imdadullah.

In Dhubri district, swab samples of a total of 27,329 people have been collected.

Out of the total samples, test reports of 23,411 samples have been found negative for Covid19.

While results of 3,240 samples are awaited, the test reports of 340 persons have been found positive as of June 15, the health official added.
