Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday submitted the Clause 6 Committee report to Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.
Sources said Sonowal called on Shah at his residence at around 8:30 in the evening and submitted the report.
Earlier, Justice (retired) Biplab Kumar Sharma-headed 13 member committee submitted its report to chief minister Sonowal.

The high-powered committee on Clause 6 set up by the union home ministry in July last year with the task to suggest ways to protect and preserve the constitutional rights and safeguard the indigenous people of Assam.
The committee in its report suggested the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Assam besides setting 1951 as the cut-off year for defining the indigenous people.
After failing to get an appointment with Union home minister Amit Shah, the high-powered committee on the implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord on February 25, 2020, submitted the report in a sealed cover to chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Guwahati.
Chief minister Sonowal had received the report from committee’s chairperson and former Gauhati High Court judge Biplab Kumar Sarma in the presence of finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other ministers of his Cabinet.
The Assam CM also felicitated the members of the panel before receiving the report.
However, All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) leaders Samujjal Bhattacharya, Dipanka Nath, and Lurinjyoti Gogoi, who are also part of the panel, skipped the meeting.
