The chairman of the National Commission for Safai Karmacharis under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, M Venkatesan visited Assam’s Lakhimpur district

During the visit to the Lakhimpur district, M Venkatesan held a review meeting.

A meeting was held at the conference hall of the North Lakhimpur Municipality Board to discuss matters related to the Safai Karmacharis of the district.

He held an interactive session with the Safai Karmacharis of all the state departments with the help of RN Prasad, a member of the state observation committee of MS Act 2013 as an interpreter and asked the concerned officials to mitigate their grievances.

The chairman of the National Commission for Safai Karmacharis asked the officials of Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital, North Lakhimpur Board, and other departments to ensure life insurance, ESI cards, Provident Fund deduction from the salaries of the Safai Karmacharis.

He also appealed to everyone to treat the Safai Karmacharis with love and respect.

Earlier, M Venkatesan visited the Harizon Colony at Ward No.13 in North Lakhimpur.

He held an interaction with the residents of the colony and inquired about the issues of drinking water, toilet facilities and others.

Lakhimpur deputy commissioner Summit Sattawan, superintendent of police BN Rajkhowa, chief executive officer (CEO) of ZPC, Tripundra Patar and additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Gitalee Dowara were present at the interaction programme.

The sub-divisional officer (SDO) of Dhakuakhana sub-division, Gurnel Singh and the CEO of North Lakhimpur Municipality Board, Casio Karan Pegu also attended the meeting.
