In view of the uproar going against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the Northeast, the Central Government has moved ten companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to Assam from Jammu and Kashmir.
The paramilitary forces have been sent to Assam in a special train as the law and order situation of Jammu & Kashmir have quite improved now after the clashes following abrogation of Article 370.
As per reports, 20 CRPF companies will be sent to Assam from Jammu & Kashmir shortly.

Moreover, the Ministry of Home Affairs had also cancelled the order of induction of seven CRPF companies to Manipur and ordered that the paramilitary forces should be sent to Assam after the arrival of their special train in Dimapur.
It may be mentioned that the protests against CAB in Assam have become violent on Wednesday.

Despite widespread protests in Northeast, union home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday introduced the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB) in Rajya Sabha.
Home minister Shah while tabling the bill said the CAB provides hopes for lakhs of people who are living with no permanent residency in India.
