Amidst the adversaries in the Bodo belt ahead of the BTC council polls, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary on Thursday visited the Barpeta and Moinabori satras of Barpeta district to seek divine blessings.

Mohilary who was accompanied by BPF leader Prabin Boro and other party workers and family members refused to comment on the fate of his party in the forthcoming polls and termed his visit to the satras a ‘personal visit’ seeking spiritual solace.

Mohilary, who is also the president of BPF was chief executive member (CEM) of the BTC ever since its inception in 2003.

His third term expired on April 27 and following the postponement of the election scheduled for April 4, 2020, owing to the global coronavirus pandemic, the Assam Governor assumed himself to the council and appointed an Administrator and Principal Secretary to supervise the functioning of the council.
