Eminent Bollywood singer Vishal Dadlani on Friday impressed the audience by chanting the slogan ‘Jai Aai  Axom’ at the fourth edition of the Dwijing Festival in Assam’s Chirang district.

The singer who had been quite vocal with his protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019 also enthralled the audience with his songs.

Vishal on Friday stated on Twitter that his performance at the Dwijing Festival was his last show this year.

He tweeted:

Last show of 2019 tonight, last soundcheck done! #DwijingFestival #Assam #LovePeaceMusic’.

Meanwhile, Bollywood singers Shekhar Ravjianii and Jonita Gandhi also entertained their audiences by singing together at the Dwijing Festival on Friday evening.

Shekhar tweeted:

Impromptu jam with one of my favourite singers and a dear friend @jonitamusic dwijingfest.’

D J Liz Brown also enthralled the audience with her performance at the Dwijing Festival on Friday evening.

It may be mentioned that the Dwijing Festival which began on Friday will continue till January 7 next year.

With the target of promoting river tourism in the rural areas of BTC and the State, the festival was initiated in the year 2016-17 under the moniker of ‘AIE RIVER WINTER FESTIVAL’ on the bank of river Aie in the Chirang district of BTC.

Later in 2017-18, the name was changed to ‘Dwijing’ meaning river bank and it became the annual river festival of the region.
