The body of a man who went missing in Tirap river in Jagun in Margherita of Tinsukia district was recovered on Sunday.
The man, identified as 42-year-old Putol Karmakar fell to the river at Phulabari port on Friday and went missing.
A massive search operation was launched after that to locate Karmakar and after two days of intense search, the body was recovered from the river.
Jagun police later took the body in their custody and sent it for post-mortem.
Karmakar was a resident of No 2 Faneng Keniya village.
