Assam: Arms and ammunition recovered in Kokrajhar

Police on Sunday recovered arms and ammunition from jungle area at Kachugaon under Gossaigaon Subdivision in Western Assam’s Kokrajhar district.

Kokrajhar SP Rakesh Roushan said that based on secret information about illegal arms and ammunition, a team of police carried out search operation in the jungle area of Santipur under Kachugaon Police Station.

During the operation, the police team led by SI Latuk Das recovered the arms and ammunition, which were kept concealed under bushes.

The SP said that one AK 47 rifle with magazine, one UG rifle with magazine, one 7.62 pistol with magazine, one grenade, four detonators and 13 rounds of live ammunition were recovered during the search operation.
