Incessant rain from last few days has turned the flood situation grim in Hojai district of Assam.

Along with the people, animals are having tough time in the district.

Amid the worsening flood scenario, wild tuskers are unleashing havoc in villages of Hojai.

As per information, a herd of five elephants entered the Islampur and Raikata areas on Saturday night in search of food.

Reportedly, the elephants destroyed three houses.

However, the people who were sleeping oblivious of the sudden attack of the jumbos managed to save themselves.

Locals alleged that the Forest department doesn’t pay heed to their repeated complaints and doesn’t take any major step to protect them from the attacks of tuskers.
