An all-women weekly market was inaugurated under Khataniapara gaon panchayat of Mangaldai on Thursday.
The market was inaugurated by the Darrang deputy commissioner Ghanshyam Das on Thursday and a host of dignitaries attended the inauguration.
The aim of this market is to offer an organized marketing platform for the locally produced products of different women self-help groups (SHGs).
The market will remain open on every Thursday and around 700 women of various SHGs will get a livelihood opportunity here.
The concept of the market was conceived by the Block Mission Management Branch under Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM).
