Sixteen new COVID-19 cases were reported in Udalguri on Sunday, spurring the health department to alert mode.
Out of the sixteen fresh cases, a doctor of Tangla CHC was also found to be positive while an NHM health worker of Harisinga and 14 persons of a quarantine centre tested positive for the infection.
Confirming the development, a top district health official said though swap samples of the medical workers were collected, we will recollect the swab samples of staffs of Tangla CHC for the test.
“The doctor was also suffering from liver-related ailments.” the official added.
Meanwhile, the health department and administration have declared the hospital as containment zone on Sunday night.
