Assam minister of state (MoS) for health Pijush Hazarika distributed scooties to a total of 634 girl students in Hojai district on Sunday.

The girl students, who secured first division in the last higher secondary examination 2020, conducted by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), received scooties as Dr Banikanta Kakati Merit Award during a function at Kachari Maidan, Sankardevnagar in Hojai on Sunday.

Besides, minister Hazarika, the event was also attended by Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev, Lumding MLA Shibu Mishra and Hojai additional deputy commissioner Gauri Shankar Das among others.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, minister Hazarika said, “Our government has done whatever it had committed. In the last two days, around 22,000 scooties have been distributed among the meritorious girl students within the state.”

He praised the leadership of Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and said, “The state is progressing under the dynamic leadership of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.”

Hazarika lambasted Assam Congress president Ripun Bora and said, “The Congress leaders only talk with any action on the ground.”
