This time Tarun Samity Kali Puja Committee in Assam’s Dibrugarh has come up with a theme ‘imagination’ which has attracted a large number of devotees.

The Kali idol has been made with soaps.

A total of 3,000 soaps were used to make the Kali idol.

Dibrugarh superintendent of police Shwetank Mishra inaugurated the Kali Puja on Thursday.

Every year, the committee comes up with different themes and ideas to attract people.

“We have used over 3000 soaps to make the idol. With waste materials, we have made our puja pandal with eco-friendly items,” said Bapi Sarkar, president of Tarun Samity Kali Puja Committee.

“In the last two days, we have witnessed a large number of footfalls in our puja pandal. More people are waiting to have a glimpse of the idol and theme,” Sarkar added.

He said, “In the last five years, we have been organising theme-based puja and have tried to make such things which attract people. Every year, people from different places visit our puja pandal. Our committee members themselves have made the idol and the puja pandal.”

“This year, we have made our mind that with the help of waste materials, we will make our puja pandal. We chalked out a plan after Durga Puja and made the theme into a reality within 15 days,” Sarkar added.
