A 19-year-old girl died of snake bite at Bihpuria in North Assam’s Lakhimpur district, a police official said.
The incident occurred on the night of Sunday at Pokadol Bengena Ati village, Khorapathar in Bihpuria when Sikhamoni Baruah was inside her home.
She was rushed to Bihpuria Rural Hospital from where she could not be treated due to lack of anti-venom drugs.
She was then shifted to North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital and she succumbed to her injuries on the way.
Sikhamoni was a BA II Semester student from Pub-Dikrong College in Bihpuria.
