Braving the incessant rain and the cold, hundreds of anti-CAA protesters staged a demonstration in Dibrugarh on Sunday at Jeoti Moral Sangha playground.

The protest was organised by the artist fraternity of the district and people from all walks of life took part in it.

The protester sang and recited anti-CAA songs and poems respectively.

Addressing the gathering, Dibrugarh’s renowned musician Prasanta Bordoloi said, “CAA is against the people of Assam. The ongoing stir has brought both our rational and emotional sides together.”

CAA is against the secular fabric of the Constitution, which will divide the people of India,” Bordoloi reiterated.

“The artist fraternity has gathered here to protest against this Act, which the government has imposed on us. They are aiming to build a vote bank by doing this,” he reiterated.
